The Kindness Bus Tour 2020

What an awesome day it was on the Kindness Bus Tour! Thank you to everyone who was a part of it! Big thanks to Graham from Ultimate Party Cairns with his double decker party bus! Wow! He maneuvered around some tight bends in suburbia and the music was pumping, everyone was singing along and dancing and having a ball. We couldn’t have done it without you Graham! And his partner Chantal with her energetic helpful energy helping keep the show moving.
Our trip began by expressing our kindness with the Earth by planting trees. Big thanks to Lisa from Treeforce who made this all possible! AND had all the holes dug for us first! You’re a legend Lisa! It was hot but beautiful in the park and we were glad to get back on the bus with a cool drink.
From there we went to BUPA Aged Care where we spent time with the elderly, giving hand massages, flowers and gifts to brighten their day. It was so nice to receive a phone call from the Manager of the BUPA Aged Care thanking us for coming. He said our presence was well received by everyone and the residents really enjoyed it and were in good spirits for the rest of the day. He said we’re welcome to come anytime.
From there and already quite behind our schedule we did a fly by stop at Raintrees Shopping Centre, everyone walking through the shopping centre giving RAKs and flowers. Big thanks to Michael Tesselaar Cairns from the Cairns Flower Market for the 150 flowers we gave away! People love receiving flowers! We also stopped by Ruths Hub for the Women’s Shelter with a box of donations of toiletries, underpants and books.
Back on the bus for a longer drive out to Kewarra Beach TAS School and Kindergarten where the children were delighted with finger puppets, bubbles, flowers, and face Nikki the Clown. Nikki you were incredible how you could paint faces while the bus was moving!
Then we headed out a little further to Palm Cove where we stopped by a local resident with a severely disabled young man, showered him with rose petals while he was serenaded by the beautiful Irma Mik - Ivy. Left gift baskets and flowers for Mum and the carers. This was more intimate but really pulled on the heart strings
Last stop lunch at the Yorkeys Knob Boat Club and we were pretty hungry by now! Thank you to the boat club for the excellent food, service and price The last of the RAKs were given away and then we were away once again back to the Pier, where the journey began
Thanks to ALL the people on the bus making it possible including a few kids that were really appreciated and gave their own RAK to everyone on the bus! Ali from the Cosmic Cleaning Ladies geez you made me laugh. Thank you.
Thanks also to Rachel Bradley from Cairns Costume Hire the added dress ups were fun! AND thanks to all the businesses that have donated gifts for RAK bags too.

And of course big thanks to Jen from Mod Films for capturing the day and making this awesome video.

Come join us next time!
